Its also common freaking knowledge that the album was released as a collaborative group effort. But if you say you didn't know, fine. Yes, people seem to want to deny the methodology in US for US based artists and want to use other countries methodology to apply to all...when the point is that there won't be uniformity in merging sales. Some countries (not even the majority) apparently do it...record companies love to put those numbers in press releases and in the end...all countries charts systems won't do that which makes the decision to acknowledge solo as solo and group as group even more logical.I guess the argument would be different if Billboard/RIAA and the systems used in other countries were to apply that methodology but for obvious reasons they don't.

All in all...all of these numbers seem inflated unless Huffington provided sources validating the numbers

They're literally counting album sales, single sales twice and streams twice. But even then, how did they get Janet with 200M records?
