Girl, not by a long shot. You don't get to say we got reparations when the US is responsible for the biggest unspoken genocide of millions of Native Americans and a cultural assimilation that destroyed dozens of tribes. Take a look at a map of all Native American lands pre-1860 to now. That's how much land that was taken from us and more importantly how many tribes have disappeared since they were forced to speak English and eventually lost the ability to write, read or speak their language.
No one talks about any of this because it's more convenient for their conscience to believe Natives have been given reparations when no one cares about the poverty, alcoholism, crime rate and domestic abuse that occurs on reservations.
And this whole oil pipeline in the ND is proof that even to this day, US in general is still treating Native Americans worse than blacks. Like we're worth less than the dirt we inherited from our ancestors. Even recently here in AZ, Senators like McCain have been trying to force through bills to get rights to our water on reservations. You tell me, where does it end? They keep taking and taking but never giving anything back.
