Well lets not act like everyone wants to go cray cray to perfect illusion when it plays on the radio. Its clearly not ear catchy but i dont even care about chart success. It should be just about music and dont forget rihanna's 2nd single after the massive work, was rock influenced and we all know how it ended up even tho it is even better than perfect illusion. So i personally think the song is doing great based on her name alone. Its about what you release darling. If she doesnt want to go with the trend, i respect that. Well considering that her career is healthy enough to book the biggest gig in the world when her last proper hit was 3 years ago then yeah, I would say she's had longevity.

Her name is associated with success by default. At this point, the GP will never see her as flopping simply because she is Lady Gaga. She's a pop star, actress, larger than life iconic figure. It doesn't matter where her singles chart or how well or album sells because she has risen above the typical pop star to an icon status - people don't have to hear her on the radio to know she's one of the biggest stars of this generation.
