Angry pedestrian blocks cyclist and gives him an earful as he tries to speed through zebra crossing
Quote:
It's a daily hazard for London pedestrians - impatient cyclists riding through zebra crossings.
But this man had clearly had enough - when a lycra-clad commuter on a red bike tried to shoot through a crossing as people were walking over it, he confronted him.
The pedestrian had a near miss with the biker, and rather than continuing across the road, he stopped and turned to physically confront him.
'Oi' he shouted. 'You have to stop, it's the law, it's the law'.
According to the Highway Code, motorists and cylists must look out for pedestrians waiting to cross at zebra crossings and be ready to slow down or stop to let them cross.
They must give way when a pedestrian has moved onto a crossing.
The biker rider obviously had plenty of space
That pedestrian is obviously just a dick, so unnecessary. He is probably one of those people who think bike riders are always in the wrong on the road / roads are only for cars kinda guy..
I hate when cyclists use the road creating slow traffic flow when there is an empty sidewalk parallel to the road. Do they do it just to annoy car drivers?

You can't drive on the pavement in the UK, and rightfully so.

I'd rather they were in the road than the sidewalk/pavement. Imagine Amsterdam if there was no cycle lane and they were in the sidewalk/pavement

I was talking about suburban USA. There are no pedestrians on sidewalks, while lots of cars on the roads. And bicyclists still use the road (that doesn't have a bicycle lane)
