The like button is not useless, when you click "like" it shares the video with more people and helps the yter

They can easily fix that with just a like/heart button and a share/retweet button. Having more shares or retweets means you really like it that you retweeted/shared it to the top page of search/browsing.

I dunno why yall want to engage on this kind of online negativity. It's just not worth it.

No. A lot of times I use the like-dislike ratio to determine whether or not I should watch something in full, especially if it's longer than a few minutes.

How many likes would be good for a video with let's say 100K views though? I wouldn't know.

Some videos by Youtubers get a lot of likes because they have fans and those fans have Youtube accounts while other videos get watched by people without Youtube accounts (videos mostly watched by adults for example). Likes aren't an accurate gauge of a video's quaity either.

THIS. I honestly wouldn't care less about the removal of the dislike button if it wasn't for the fact that it's the quickest way to check if a tutorial or help video is genuinely helpful or if it's just a waste of time.

Like/Dislike ratio doesn't really do it with justice as dislikes could mean more from haters/spambots/rivals and their fans disliking the video. It would become atleast easier to track and ban a spambot liking videos than a disliker who could just dislike a video with just mere seconds watching or even just by the thumbnail of the video alone and justify not giving the chance to like it.

If you don't like something then you shall leave it alone and move on or just share your comment to the rest of the world. It's that simple.

They should fix the dislike button on comments instead, so much trash sits there and needs to be put down.

I can't remember the last time I liked or disliked a video or read any comments. I use YouTube to watch videos that I find interesting or arousing. Other people's opinions mean nothing to me
