Okay I know documentaries by nature aren't supposed to be full of twists and turns like a drama or soap opera, but there have been a few major ones with seriously f**ked up twists such as Dear Zachary and The Imposter (anyone who likes gritty and compelling docs should definitely watch those two).

Anyway does anyone know of any other great documentaries to watch with shocking twists? Like, you're sitting there thinking you know what this documentary is about and then BAM something changes the whole course of it and makes it even more engrossing.

What's it about without spoiling anything major? I know of it but don't know anything about it and if I search the synopsis I think it'll spoil it for me.

I just finished watching Dirty Wars, based on the book by Jeremy Scahill. It's eye-opening and exposes how ****ed up American foreign policy is regarding the Middle East/treatment of Middle Eastern people.

That Sugar Film shook me enough to try and quit sugar.

Food Inc is basic but left me shook after i watched it

Making A Murderer is definitely worth checking out. The pacing is a bit slow but it's a phenomenal series overall.

it's a documentary about these children with disabilities (and some with bad behaviour) that go to these mental institutions. it gets really dark

Food docs don't really interest me although Supersize Me was good. I'm more into the darker documentaries.

Has anyone watched Keith Allen's Princess Diana documentary which was banned worldwide? It's a bit "conspiracy theory" but there's a lot of food for thought in it.
