I hate to resort to making threads on ATRL but I am trying to seem as calm and cool and collected IRL as possible about it, so this won't give me away hehehehe

Anyway so the weekend before this past weekend my friend had a b-day party and this bEAUUtiful boy walks up to me within 10 minutes of me being there and he told me he remembered meeting me at a party a year ago (i don't think we met because i would've remembered like trust) but i wasn't gonna push it so i was like "ohh yaaa i remember!!!! xDD" and we talked for like 40 minutes but a lot of his friends were at the party so he kept sort of leaving and coming back. He did his thing while I did mine. When I was about to leave we exchanged numbers and he was like "I want to be....(pauses and closes eyes and weird hand gesture) friends. I'm really bad at dating but I want to get to know you" mind you guys I didn't mention dating or anything like that at all

So over the past week we've been texting and both of our schedules are kind of busy, so his last text to me was that he was gonna check his work schedule and let me know when he's free but he hasn't texted yet and it's been 3 days now. Is he interested or is it all just a perfect illusion? How long should I wait for him to text back before I forget about him? Should I wait a while (like a week or two) and text him again? I won't be too pressed either way but his personality seems really sweet and more unique of the gays I've met here and I do really wanna get to know him, but I also have insecurity issues and take things really personally so sometimes it's better to just distance myself and wait for people who are meant to be in my life to become apart of it. What should I do gurls?

Girl. He's clearly interested in you. I figure he's waiting for you to make some sort of move to showcase that you're interested as well. Waiting for him to text back could send the message that you aren't reciprocating his advances.

I also get the feeling he's just as hesitant about dating as you are. Hence the not-so-subtle hints about wanting to get to know you but failing to directly ask you out.

Send him a text and say, "Hey, haven't heard from you in a few days. Was wondering if you'd go on a date with me next time you're free?" What's the worst he can say, no? And it's likely he won't say no since he is, again, clearly interested in you.

Nobody spends 40 minutes at a party with somebody if they weren't interesting in them. Unless it's a really bad party but you exchanged numbers.

Text him and ask what's up. It shows that you're interested. If it doesn't go anywhere after that he probably chickened out. Not everybody is secure in their sexuality

You never know, I mean lets hope, I mean I had a crush on this guy who kept saying we will hang out but I ruined it telling him I got a bit of crush on him and we never spoke again, so don't do the same mistake I did haha, just play it cool, text him...Like I can't tell these guys because guys act like they are into me then once they root me or get to know me they lose interest...so I can't tell in that message he likes you but he seems like he does a bit so yeah play it cool, maybe message him at the end of the week if you have not heard back from him and yeah good luck sis hope it works out for you x

You have nothing to lose, just text him to ask about the date. If he texts you back, congrats! If he doesn't, you know what it means.

Sis this has happened to me before which is why I'm being super careful. I just don't wanna jump the gun and scare him away. I don't understand the psychology, but people's interest tends to fade QUICK once they might think you like them more than they like you. I've also experienced the other side of it and been like I wasn't creeped out or anything but it just immediately made me lose all feeling for him, not sure why. But that also happens only if you and the other person don't know each other well. Once you get to know someone and see them as a person rather than an object of desire those silly things seem to go away, which is what I'm trying to do here
