It's a false equivalence. They're assuming a dislike for the music is a an attack on its themes, when the two are distantly related at best.
I can hate Taylor's "Welcome to New York" without hating the city. I can hate country music without showing any sort of prejudice against the culture behind it.
It's a very lazy argument.
