I know you're playing devil's advocate here but I don't see how a rumor justify them showing up in force and following students around. Maybe being at the ready at the first time of disturbance sure.

My school reported a riot rumor and someone having a gun (two different occasion). Only 3-4 extra cops (our school already had a cop who patrol school grounds and sometime check inside) show up against 6000+ students. Nothing happened tho, the dude with the gun got away.

Even if the school didn't report it, they have a responsibility to be there if people are potentially in danger. Most protests are organized on social media and aren't official. I didn't the read full article for their exact actions, but is it a fair assessment to say they just showed b/c they were black kids wearing black? I don't know

Racists don't even try to hide themselves anymore and I'm so tired of it. Protesting in the streets is wrong. Protesting peacefully by wearing a black shirt is wrong. Clearly they just want black people to shut up

Is this some kind of new solidarity movement? I got a few emails about protests coming up where people are being asked to wear all black to show support.

I don't really understand why they were following them around. They should have just kept watch from a distance.

This reminds me of the time when some idiot at my school made a bomb threat in one of the women's restrooms resulting in the administrators and local police asking kids to walk through a metal detector the next day. All the black and Hispanic kids were randomly chosen.
