I mean the only real sale numbers we have for Japan are Oricon charts, which only counts physical sales. Numbers will be low since she's not an idol group where Oricon numbers count. Digital platforms are more used by the GP.
Namie's last album sold 160k in its first week, and she has the best sales of all the pop girls right now. I can't tell if her hiatus will help her or pay ha with dust. I'm hoping for a 200k first week TBH.
Since ORICON only counts physical sales, I'd say 150-200k. I seriously don't know what to expect tho, some other artists who went on hiatus literally DESTROYED their careers sales-wise. This album sounds very good tho, so I hope that Hikki will have good sales.
Last year the higest selling solo female albums were:
Namie Amuro - _genic (246.369 copies)
Superfly - WHITE (164.368 copies)
Taylor Swift - 1989 (138.424 copies)
But Utada has always been a monster in album sales, so I'm expecting her to hit 400-500k on the long run. Hanataba and Sakura Nagashi are both platinum and Manatsu is gold already, they might help her
Her episode of NHK SONGS is airing in two hours, and she's performing Hanataba, Manatsu, Michi and Tomodachi , so we're getting a new song in few hours
