Based on my "Americans: have you gone to NYC?" thread, I would like to ask if European ATRLers have gone to Paris. Paris is arguably the NYC in Europe in terms of how it is the most touristic city in the continent.

I'm originally from Europe, but live in the US now. I went to Paris from the US this year. I never went there while I was in Europe

I'm not European, but I've been to Paris numerous times. Not sure I can get away with talking about the things I did the last few last three each time I've gone except my first time without being banned. Needless to say, I'm excited about taking my bf there for his first time next year.

Oh and I got my Macbook stolen in Paris, while some gypsies stole 200 Euros from my friend
And then a gypsy family was trying to fool me in the metro. The guy was asking for directions, while the lady tried to sneak behind me and get into my backpack, and her son was running around me to distract me, but I saw everything and left
So MUCH crime

Yeah, twice. Once with my family (ps don't ever go to Paris for NYE, it's a bore) and once with school. No bad memories besides having to hold a speech about Edith Piaf at her grave in a heavy storm/rain.

You gotta watch out! When I went the first time they had these sign up sheets and they told you they were raising money for deaf children They learned English just to scam though, you gotta give them props for that

I actually preferred Paris to Amsterdam. That said, I was so out of my mind when I visited Amsterdam that I barely left my hostel.

I'm going back to Amsterdam next year. I'll make sure to take in more cultural places than the Anne Frank House this time.

This is how it happened I should have read about crime in Paris...
My friend asked for police, and they collected all the gypsies under the Eiffel tower and were questioning them, but of course it lead to nothing... There were like 30 of them. It's a family business. Disgusting!
My mom has been hypnotized and scammed twice by them in Moscow. Horrible!

That's why I hate my country with a passion! Most of the gypsies around Europe come from my damn country. It's full of them here. And their idiot music became mainstream here too. They looked something like this right?



I'm always SO ashamed to tell my nationality when I travel abroad. My parents are very angry at me for what I plan to do, but as soon as I get another citizenship I'm ****ing quiting my Romanian citizenship.

OT: I haven't been to Paris yet, but from photos and videos it looks a bit overrated to me to be honest. I'd rather go see London, Wien, Amsterdam, Berlin or Stockholm. But I do want to visit Paris one day as well.
