When the service is good I usually tip 2€. Waiters aren't slaves in my country so it's ok.

Only if I feel they've actually done their job well. That means I probably tip most of the time, but if I feel a waiter has been rude/unhelpful/unfriendly then I don't tip. I don't agree with always tipping, at the end of the day you go to a restaurant not just for the food but the experience, and if your waiter hasn't given you a good experience then why should they get extra pay on top of their wage?

I don't get why people make a big deal about it, I mean the tips are just a bonus for the waiters, they still get their wage each week/month. And don't come at me with "but the pay is really low" because low-pay/minimum wage isn't exclusive to the hospitality, I've done my fair share of minimum wage jobs and that includes retail and call centre work.

Actually I disagree. When I used to work as a server my biggest tips came from the following:

1. Asians
2. Latinos
3. Europeans
4. Whites
5. Blacks

Everytime I had Asian customers it was always a twenty dollar minum tip. For Latinos always around 15. Europeans always went overboard or underboard because they didn't understand. White people were always 3-5$ no matter what the meal. Hell, I had a couple order 300$ worth of food and got 5$ from them. Blacks either tip at the standard 20% or don't tip at all. My tips from Black customers generally equaled that of my white customers.

So in preference I would take Asians and Latino tables over any other race tbh.

For me, I give at least 20% and sometimes have given up to 50% (like there are some waiters who are so good I will give them 20$ on a 40$ ticket.) But it is probably also because I understand what it takes to be a waiter, so I relate. Plus I have the money so why not.

I can't stand people who don't. These people are "living" off $2 an hour.

Well sometimes I tell the waitress to keep the change but it's hardly anything. Other than that, no. Tipping is not a necessity in the U.K.
