Twice
Once a person said I was a mexican, when I don't even look like one
And the other time a person said that I had to go back to Turkey, even though none of my family originate from Turkey
I don't think too much of it, people are just ignorant and I don't want to give them attention
Oh and my grandfather came from Indonesia but I also have ancestors from countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
When people see me they're just not sure what I am lol. I can make a list of all the things I've been mistaken for, from white to Colombian, Spanish, Puerto Rican(?), Argentine, Brazilian, Portuguese (). Apparently I'm "too light skinned" to be Mexican for some
I'm white but because I have black hair and eyebrows plus I'm tanned, a few people have thought I'm Arabic, while a lot think I'm Spanish/Mediterranean. I don't get the Arab assumptions but then I know I'm white.
Well something similar happened to me when I went to Texas, this waitress told me that I looked like the boys from her city (She was from Ukraine) and this lady on the airport asked me if I was Australian and well I'm neither since I'm from Mexico but I'm too pale and green-eyed so I guess that's why they said that. For some strange reason, they think all Mexican people have darker skin
