Adding some info, sources and events following the US airstrikes on Syrian army in Dajr az-Zaur:
-Prior to the bombing that killed over 100 soldiers on Saturday, the Syrian Armed Forces allowed US drones to freely fly above the syrian army position in Dajr az-Zaur airport and monitor the area. (HOW THEY DIDNT KNOW?) Syrian army will no longer allow that
- ISIS launched ground attacks on the Syrian army positions only 7 minutes after the US-led coalition airstrikes, making the air and ground assaults look highly coordinated
-Following the devastating US-led coalition air strikes on the syrian army, ISIS were able to take advantage of the situation and capture the Thatdah mountain despite the counterattack of the syrian army. From mount Thatdah its possible to shoot down all airplanes taking off from the airport, effectively making the airport useless.
-ISIS shoot down Syrian fighter jet from mount Thatdah
- With this US-supported endeavor, the Islamic State terror organization is becoming well-positioned for a successful assault on the syrian army held airport, having the possibility of taking the last position of syrian army in the Eastern Syria and completely besiege the whole territory.
- The siege over mount Thatdah opened a way for ISIS to also make an assault on the Armenian Cemetery region west of the city, where over a 100 000 people lay at risk from a crippling siege by ISIS (note: ISIS is committing genocide on minority groups in Syria, including Armenians)
