Which carrier do you have? Most carriers have programs where you can get the new iPhone every year so long as you've paid off half of your current phone and trade it in when you get the new one.
Right now I have sim only, since I got the iPhone 6 for my birthday. So I'm free to choose...

Why don't you do the iPhone Upgrade Program? I was going to do that but Apple force you to pay for AppleCare+, but if you don't mind paying for it, then it's a good option.
This is so stupid... I have my coins ready for Apple, but you have to enter your account number from AT&T, Sprint, Verizon or T-Mobile only Add the SIM-free iPhone to the options
Apple wyd sis You could have been $850 richer NOW

That's what I was going to suggest. If you're not tied to a carrier, you could buy it through Apple using the iPhone Upgrade Program and then get the new iPhone next year. It just depends on how much you're willing to pay and if you're okay with trading in your phone to get the new one.
