That’s $40,000 you don’t have, that the label has advanced you, ripped into tiny pieces, and you either try to get the shot even though this is not what the plan was, or you tear that money up and no one wants to work with you again. That’s what happens when you don’t have a great team. Then you have to make these terrible choices. And I think he saw me being pulled in these really difficult directions, and he just wanted to rescue me.
