This is actually unusual for an electronic device. In laptops and computers, the 'hissing' sound actually comes from the fans inside the case that are used to blast air out and keep it running cool. In older pcs that kind of sound came from the hard drive too, before ssds were a thing.

But on an iphone i have no idea why there would be 'hissing' - the phone has zero moving parts, unless i'm mistaken?
