Tim Gunn: "Kanye West is a sphinx without a riddle"
Quote:
Season 4 of Kanye West's Yeezy collection debuted last week, and one person who isn't being tight-lipped about how he really feels about Kanye's fashion line? Project Runway's fashion guru Tim Gunn.
"I'm totally perplexed about why the fashion industry has not looked at these, frankly, dumb, basic clothes and cried 'Hoax,'" Gunn told Access Hollywood. "Kanye West is a sphinx without a riddle. I just don't understand why people are so in awe. [The models were] basically wearing stretch undergarments."
"I think the only thing dumber than these clothes would be the people who would buy these clothes," Gunn continued.
Well I feel art is honestly from a perspective. I feel the same as Tim Gunn but to another person they may think Kanye is an amazing designer. To call someone dumb for wearing his clothes is out of line. We are free to wear what we choose and just like he enjoys wearing those expensive suits, someone could enjoy wearing Kanye's line.
I love Tim Gunn, he's such an ICON and he ain't lying about Kanye. He's what we call a "tuttologo" in Italy: someone who wants to do a little bit of everything but that in the end isn't particularly good at anything. And fashion certainly isn't his cup of tea. Sorry!

Only ATRL would claim Kanye isn't good at anything come for his clothes, his bars whatever meanwhile their favs are wearing his shoes / his talent for producing is beyond
yet since his collection debuted, everyone wants to dress in knockoff yeezy season and current street style is more than ever influenced by kanye. there's a reason why Zara, H&M, F21, ASOS, Urban Outfitters etc are all selling/sold collection of yeezy knock-offs...."And now I look and look around and there's so many Kanyes"

I feel the same way, not my kind of style. But what Tim Gunn is missing out is that. the fashion industry is not just limited to looking beautiful and expensive. There are trends and people have different style choices.
Not a lie in sight! I completely agree with Tim. Every Yeezy collection so far has been basic and laughably expensive. His stans will defend him to their dying breath but I've yet to see anyone in real life look at his clothes and say that they look good or that they want to buy them. After the slew of bad reviews for his latest line, it seems the fashion industry is catching onto the fact that it's all a sham.
