Interscope is not about to let one of their biggest artists release an album with no "real" promotion. They'll either push PI harder (if this is even necessary, we don't really know yet. Keep in mind Sia is falling just as hard, considering she also has a MV to keep her numbers up), or they'll choose a second single that's likely to smash (like Ayo--isn't this a "DJ song," as Gaga described it?).

Interscope have funds that were given to Gaga before The Fame was even released (normally it's 500,000 towards future earnings) and she was then given clubs/bars to perform in for most of 2008, later having two number ones as she became a global phenomenon.

At which point during that first year do the millions and millions of people who have bought her records and attended her shows (for what, nearly 8 years?) contributed to how she became a musician? That's a lot of people she owes herself to, not to mention the previous signings she was involved in..

I'm just confused more than anything. On one hand, I get that she'a an artist and she wants to create unfiltered. But on the other hand, her actions say she wants success.

So I don't understand why she couldn't create one song, at least, that is both great, but also (somewhat) radio friendly/trendy. One song that could sell the album. It seems ridiculous to risk the success of the entire album because you refuse to compromise even an inch, on one song.

But it's all a moot point if she's truly over success.

Perfect Illusion won't be like J, especially not if Ronson is executive producer. He's the opposite of ARTPOP.
