"Perfect Illusion" is not hit material, whether you think it's the highest quality release she's ever done or not. And it's likely that the rest of the album will follow suit in that regard.

Which, hey, if that's what she wants from this record, then that's fine. But so far, the direction she seems to want to go in just doesn't look to be very commercially compatible. They should have premiered the video during the premiere of "American Horror Story" and not "Scream Queens." "American Horror Story" has more buzz and is higher rated - plus Gaga actually stars in it.

I mean she could get lucky and strike a hit without the trend chasing I'm not saying she can't but that's the most likely for an instant huge smash with the rollout she's doing now. But as long as she's not melting down and continues serving music I'm good.

I have such a love-hate relationship with this song...I can wake up one morning disappointed in the song and not listen to it at all. Then the next day blast it in the car and sing along like it's her best song
