Because this is a pop forum and most rappers are men. 80% of ATRL only like female artists and some male artists if they take their clothes off or make pop-leaning stuff like Drake.
Most rappers are not even homophobic, plenty of them (Kanye, Jay Z, Eminem...) showed support to the community even before it was trendy to do it for sales like your favorite 'pop girls ' do.
I don't care for most of the rap/hip-hop music that's out there today in mainstream (exceptions: Macklemore, Eminem, Jay-Z, or alternative/indie-influenced ones). On the other hand, the 1980s/1990s/early-to-mid 2000s era of rap/hip-hop was a lot better quality.
