It makes sense that Gaga would want to distance herself from the 'Lady Gaga' brand but it's still kinda sad. It's like she wants to debut all over again.
It's a stage name and she can adapt with it, she just chose the WRONG lead single. She was doing everything else right leading up to it.
IDTS, the industry is currently 100% style over substance. If you don't have a cool persona people (teens in particular who rule streaming) won't listen to you. Rihanna will always do well because she's "cool". Most hip hop is "cool". EDM is "cool". "Lady Gaga" will never be "cool" (again).

Ya but I don't think a name has that big of an effect. It was the material (which lbr sounds like the non-hip stuff on BTW in a way).
