Time to work overtime in Ohio, Golden Week is dead so far:

Rejecting calls from Ohio Democrats, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to reinstate a voting period known as “Golden Week,” when people could register and cast ballots at the same time.

With no published dissents, the justices said they wouldn’t block an appeals court decision that allowed the elimination of Golden Week under a Republican-backed law.

The Ohio Democratic Party argued that the law disproportionately affected black voters, violating both the Constitution and the Voting Rights Act. The party sought to revive the early-voting period for the November election.

“Tens of thousands of Ohio voters have relied on Golden Week during the past two presidential elections, and African Americans have done so at far higher rates than other voters,” the Democrats told the Supreme Court.

Ohio’s Republican leaders urged the Supreme Court to reject the bid, saying the state’s 23 days of early in-person voting put it in the top 10 in the nation.

“All Ohioans have many options to cast a ballot,” Secretary of State Jon Husted and Attorney General Mike DeWine argued.

I think this was just a request for an immediate injunction. The last time Golden Week in Ohio was brought up in 2014 there was a 5-4 split against it. The news I found is that it was the first level of the 6th Circuit Appeals Court (2-1 verdict), not the full Appeals Court ruling. I think they could still appeal to the full 6th Circuit and if they win and SCOTUS ties, then Golden Week is back. Then again, probably not enough time.

Obama won OH in 2012 by over 180,000 votes and 90,000 voters used Golden Week. Ground game better be strong

I've said that that's the one state he's most likely to flip. I believe he's lead most of the polls there. Grassley has a very good ground operation that will help the GOP up and down the ticket.

I always thought he'd be more likely to flip somewhere like Maine but yeah Iowa smh. It's fine I guess because if she wins NC that would be a good trade off. Also Iowa isn't needed in many of her 270 scenarios

Well it looks like that was premature, becauae the Fox guy who broke the embargo deleted the tweet. I wager he's leading though, as he has been in most Iowa polls.

Clinton will win NC. People HATE the GOP governor and restrictive voter laws actually make more people motivated to vote. If a Republican outfit like Civitas has her tied after this week, that says it all.

Clinton isn't losing VA...PPP had her up 6 just a few days ago. It's one of a few states where Trump has literally not lead in a single poll since the election started.

It seems in most all of these states, the last few weeks were really hard on Hillary and it lead to a quick Trump resurgence. However, it looks to be leveling out as Trump's lead is starting to shrink again. I think a lot of people jumped on the Clinton is too sick to run bandwagon but that was quickly shut down by the media and Hillary's team so people are starting to realize she's actually fine.

The debates can't come fast enough.
