I don't like this. Monsanto has so many patents on seeds and genetic modification. Combine that with the chemical resources of Bayer and...I'm just gonna farm algae in my backyard and live off of that.

Monsanto is the pits of hell, literally all their products have been proven as unhealthy or even dangerous. Good luck with improving its tarnished PR, Bayer.
No no no. This cannot happen. Like the good sis SumOfUs said... "Together they would be the biggest seed company AND the biggest pesticide company in the world with control over nearly everything we eat and grow".
Apparently US/EU regulators can stop it from happening.
I'm scared for farmers and for al of us... What if Bayer sets high prices on seed and pesticides with their monopoly? Plus they have huge market of pharmaceuticals ... What if Germany falls to another dictatorship?
