There is no such thing as playing God in legit science.
Are you against IVF? Chemo?
If you don't like science and in turn technology advancing because you're playing God, then you better not go to a hospital, not see a doctor, not take medication, not use anything that comes from a factory.
This is just another step to make humans' lives better, and not just in the sense that gay men will have kids together, but more importantly it is a potential infertility treatment. Why would God make a random woman or man infertile? Where does this fit in the grand scheme?
Also, if God existed and didn't want others to 'play God', would he be able to stop it?
If no, he's not all-powerful.
If he is powerful enough to make sure people aren't infertile, suffering from famine etc. then he isn't all loving, since he's not making that happen.
Same as not 'having a cure' for cancer. If He doesn't have one, he's not all-knowing. If he does, then he's not all-loving.
Sorry for the rant.
As a medical student, I believe that ALL advancements in medicine are things that we need to consider carefully to make sure the benefits outweigh the negatives. I don't know if this does. As I said, more than the gay aspect, I am personally more interested in the treatment of infertility aspect of this.
