You can't tell me you really thought an instagram post was gonna give it green updates Doesnt matter how many followers instagram has she needs some kind of tangible promo. Well, a lot of the followers of the account (many of whom follow when they first sign up) are likely inactive. On top of that, there would be a significant proportion (in the millions) of those who haven't yet updated to see Insta stories. Then on top of that, it seems that it's already been removed - so she had a 7~ hour window [unless it's only me who can't see Instagram's story anymore]. Again subtract the number of people who didn't see the story during that period, and remember that a large proportion of the viewers would come from overseas markets. Once we've divided that all up, remember that even if half of the people that saw the story went to look it up - they likely then consumed Perfect Illusion via spotify, apple music, youtube, some other streaming service, pirating or by actually buying the music.

That's probably why it's difficult to see any large effect from it
