Seeing the nutjob his mother is he is probably involved in stuff like this on the daily, so what does it matter. It's not the other people's fault his mom is a lunatic and they couldn't have known, either.
Also, if someone damages your car you got the right to demand compensation. What does it matter if it's been an accident or how big or small the damage is? That's what insurance is for.
