I love the bridge in Perfect Illusion. I was underwhelmed by the song on first listen until I heard "where are you cuz I can't see". I immediately thought of her song Monster (for some reason). I'm glad the song is doing great on the iTunes chart! Nobody expected much from Lady after her previous era, and she is in a very humble and creative place right now; the last thing she needs is to obsess about something as frivolous as a number. She tried that last time and gave us her worst album.
She understands reinvention well. It's always the artists who put their vision before the charts that leave tremendous legacies behind. If she continued making The Fame Monster 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 I would be very bored with her. Perfect Illusion isn't her best (it's a great song to listen to while sitting on my rooftop, white wine in hand and braless nonetheless) but I respect her ability to say "**** it" and do whatever she wants. Great woman!
she sang the same genre and did the tryhard shock factor gimmick for 4 albums in a row tho if anything she's terrible at reinventions seeing as the first time her lead single wasn't some edm cheap trash it was a terrible screaming noise
It's too soon for gags. Katy set the bar too high and people would compare. It would be ruthless.

The song was also used heavily by the American recording artist Lady Gaga throughout 2008 to promote her singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face", to which the song's producer partook in the promotion.[1]
