Back home in Melbourne O'Brien said she couldn't believe the reaction to her artwork, which garnered 700,000 likes on Perry's Instagram feed, describing the last week as "nuts".
"There's little or no phone reception at Burning Man. I had no idea coming out and just turning my phone on and seeing, of all the posts you can put up while at Burning Man, Katy Perry shared just two: one of her face and one of my wings."

"It was thrillingly, excitingly, shocking and awesome - what other words can I use to describe it?"
After the photo of Perry went viral, O'Brien said she was contacted by US jewellery brand, Alex and Ani, who want to display Neon Angel Wings at next week's Global Citizen Festival in New York.
"To be able to go back to Burning Man as a large scale light installation artist and take a piece I was just so proud and turn it on... There were a few tears of pride. It was amazing."
"As a visual artist, it's hard to get your name and work out there, but when you get a great picture like this, it's absolutely thrilling," she said.
