In that thread, you would see members express disappointment at men who declare their preference for those who fall into the hetero-normative "masc" category. Understandably so.

It is however interesting that the word "Trade" is thrown around very often in the African American gay community, often placed on a pedestal. You would overhear one guy tell his friend "OMG OMG this trade was staring at me", "I hope I get a hot trade tonight". I even saw a tweet where this guy talked about hooking up with someone and thought he had finally gotten a hot trade only to overhear him singing along to Mariah in the shower. The replies were people laughing along with him or sharing in his disappointment. Most of the times, these are feminine gay men placing "trades" on a pedestal.


This begs the question, isn't this hypocritical?

I don't. I don't want no undercover dude who sleeps with women because hes in denial that they're gay. Keep those STD's to yourself.

But the definition has changed over time and it no longer refers to male escorts.

It still refers to DL men though. You would find that it's the same men who cry about not being desired for being fem that go about their days worshipping trades.

Because they're hot daddy af. What gay hasn't fantasized about a hung, well-toned, masc man ****ing them up?
