I used to buy all my music until Apple Music came. Now I buy songs/albums from my favourite artists only.

The digital sales will be less and less with time.

If it's a smaller or independent artist, I'll buy a digital album/single if it isn't available physically to support them. Otherwise, I really don't find digital downloads any more rewarding than pirating.

I buy QUALITY albums like Glory, and I trusted that Gaga would serve something amazing for LG5 lead so I bought that too but not quite sure.

Basically I buy my faves' music - and also cause it's easiest, and data plans are bad in New Zealand so it pays to have music downloaded on my phone.

Adele's 25 three million copies sold in the FIRST WEEK is just... Every 100th citizen of the US bought the album only in the first week. Like how is it even possible?

bc physicals always have an extra lil something, like posters, photobooks, lyrics, liner notes, packaging aesthetics too

also not to mention in countries like south korea you can get literal BOOKS of artists that are solely pictures with the CD. there's also those card things that come with them.

korean album packaging is insane(ly amazing) but that's something for a different thread.

it also feels good to have something touchable, something feasible, to some people that is.

I've never liked the idea of streaming.

I only buy for my faves, stream everything else.

It's mainly older people. People over 40 are the largest purchasers of music.

Once they become fully removed from music as a whole, we'll enter a mostly streaming era.

I have a lot of favs so buying music, would be kind of draining. Tho some of them aren't well known so that's when I try to buy their music.

I actually like owning the music.

I can afford it and I like 'owning' things (even if it's digital). Like, I don't temporarily rent eBooks / use Audible.com either.

I used to buy all the music that I liked, then I looked at my wallet and I knew that had to stop; now I'm just buying music from my main faves.

I like actually owning the CD/Vinyl.

Besides you can just transfer the music from a CD into your computer anyway.
