The show's rise almost mirrors the rapidly increasingly acceptance of LGBT people. I'm noticing a surprising number of my straight friends and acquaintances watching the show, talking about it on social media, and going to see the contestants perform. I've even heard co-workers talking about it and I mostly work with seemingly unadventurous legal people.
