hey y'all, I LOVE the song and I couldn't care less about its chart performance and what have you... Hence the following decision...
The pathetic threads on here dragging Gaga for supposed sales two days after release and the trolls in the single thread are too much. Monsters will always be targeted, even if it's unjustified. A lot of the other stanbases have delulu members who keep generalising and hating on both Gaga and us... I find that I'm not bothered by it, but that I'm disappointed that there are so many young adults who are pathetic enough to actually spend their time hating/resenting an artist (and their fans) when they don't know them in real life, who makes her art, makes millions of people happy, and has more talent than them...
The negativity influenced my experience of the ARTPOP era, it's not influencing my experience of this era yet, and I won't let that happen again. Since there is no escaping the negativity, drama, and dragfests on here I'm just gonna ask for a permaban, cuz I feel like I've outgrown this place anyway. I'm ready to enjoy good music, regardless of who sings it. I'm too old for this petty ****, I'm gonna live my life and keep enjoying music to its fullest by focusing on the music, not on commercial performance and reviews of insecure virgin bottoms with a father complex.
I'm gonna miss some of you guys and hope you have a fun time on here. I wanted to mention Dämon, DiaryOfG, H-I-M, Yzma, Su-Barbie-A, ELECTRAHEARTPOP, ivi, Phoenixstar, Gypsylife, LadyGagaStan93, -JED-, SpinThatShhh, and Badger (and anyone else I might be forgetting, sorry!) Thanks for the fun times on here, wish you all the best in your future and hope you all love LG5 and have a lot of other good music coming your way.

I totally understand you BadMonster. A while back I also took a quite long atrl break because it really got to me. I'm sad you are leaving because now we can't discuss the upcoming projects with you. Can't we start a groupchat somewhere, like on twitter, with all of us?

(We can fight them back! Don't reply to negativity - start a monsters alliance and report every single negative thing. If you can't report, PM another monster and soon it will stop. No stan base in my time has ever been dragged like this and it's horrific.)
It's sad, because Gaga spreads love and I'm not saying our fanbase is perfect. There's lighthearted shade (which tbh I don't even get involved in with), but this is ruthless!
Out of curiosity, do y'all remember how you initially reacted to each of Gaga's leads? For me:
Just Dance: love on first listen Bad Romance: wasn't too interested honestly because I was still hooked on The Fame (), but I did like it pretty immediately Born This Way: I was shocked, kind of in a bad way, kind of like "all this hype...for this?"; I wasn't expecting it at all Applause: love on first listen Perfect Illusion: kind of a "what the hell..." reaction but less bad than Born This Way; the hype this time from the long ass wait definitely positively effected my initial view of the song
I love them all now though, so. I'm just curious because I feel like it's natural to not instantly love every new release, even from your fave, but a lot of Monsters are disappointed because Perfect Illusion didn't click with them on the first listen. Just give it some time.
Just Dance: I thought it was pretty good, wasn't wow'd Bad Romance: First Time that I discovered a song the day it came out and LOVED IT. I remember listening to the audio on youtube and loving the cover so much and then dancing to the song the video cemented the song as one of my favorite songs of all time when it came out Born This Way: I remember having a HORRIBLE day, like I had to go home from school because of something embarrassing (can't remember what) and then I heard Gaga on the radio "Hello Little Monster, This is Lady Gaga and this my new song Born This Way" and I cried The lyrics hit so home to me because of the horrible day I was having and I loved it. also the fact that is was played like 1000 times across the 3 stations we had in the car I went on itunes and it was the first song I bought on my ipod. I really liked it Applause: I thought it was REALLY weird but I LOVED IT. I was with my friends when it leaked and I was so shook I couldn't handle myself, when Pop Music Emergency happened and it came out in full I was wrapped in a blanket freaking out because it was storming but the song calmed me down Perfect Illusion: Mix of Emotions really. The song is so different from the rest of Gaga's discography so it was a lot to take in, definitely a grower too. I delayed dinner and all of my homework so I could hear it and it was a mess I was shook, but didn't know what to think really
Just Dance: What is this mess? I liked Poker Face better. Bad Romance: Whew. Let me buy this real quick. Born This Way: I literally cringed when I finished the song. Her worst lead single. Applause: This is so weird and dated. I liked it after a few plays, though. Perfect Illusion: Very rock. Let me re-listen. Love it now.
just dance: thought it was cool, really liked her voice. I thought she was black
bad romance: instantly loved it. I could tell right away it was going to be a huge hit, and I liked that it was darker sounding than the singles from the fame
born this way: "gay gay gay gay gay gay super gay"
applause: didn't like the verses at all the first couple times, but loved the prechorus and chorus. I especially loved her singing the "a-p-p-l-a-u-s-e"
perfect illusion: I noticed right away that there was no pitch correction on her vocals which made me nervous but the chorus came and I was like YESSSS. I also knew people were not going to like the sound, but I loved it. I love how uninhibited she sounds, like her voice can finally breathe a bit on record. the key change threw me, and I feel like the song would be dull without it
Just Dance: Loved it on the first listen, though I thought it was a Gwen Stefani song
Bad Romance: I got chills No other song has hit me on the first listen the way Bad Romance did. Still my favorite Gaga song to date.
Born This Way: I HATED it so much on the first listen but it grew on me after a few more listens. Definitely love it a lot more now and it's one of my favorite Gaga songs.
Applause: Liked it on the first listen but kinda cringed at the lyrics. I got tired of it over time, similar to Just Dance.
Perfect Illusion: Loved it on the first listen and even more now. Not sure how much I'll like it in a few months though.
