Which is ********. Black power anthem or not, Beyoncé has loyal fans of all races, many who would purchase anything she releases, especially if it's a good song.
Plus blacks are a diverse minority group; not every member of that group likes Beyonce. Any "advantage" she enjoys from a "large" support of a minority group surely fails in comparison to the support that can be obtained from the large white market others usually cater to.

That was a sentence after I posed my question. Assuming that the statistic is true, I can see how a black empowerment song would sell well amongst a black population, but, again, I didn't say only black people bought the song.
And assuming those are US numbers, there's like 70 million black people in the US alone. That's hardly insignificant.
