An online foodie magazine thought it would be a great idea to create a guide on how to eat Pho, a popular Vietnamese dish, with an American chef who serves Vietnamese food in his restaurant in Philadelphia.

Reactions from Asian viewers of the video, however, highly indicated that his “proper consumption techniques” did not sit well with the people who grew up eating the delicacy.

I feel as though a large chunk of this criticism came from the title and reading too much into the title.

The video has like 2 "orders" in it but they're more directions than anything else, the rest is just him saying what he does.

He even says at the end that it's just the way he does it and that there are multiple ways of doing it so

white people think they know everything, what else is new?

And I will continue to put hoisen and sriacha in my soup. I would literally do to his shop just to do it in front of him.

The title is misleading. All he did was show a different way of eating soup and suggested there are other ways of eating it.

They were probably getting roasted / laughed at in the comments and took it as anger as opposed to people just laughing at the white chef probably looking dumb and extra trying to be a Pho expert.

that reminds me of this video where Chinese people are trying P.F Chang's and all the children of the immigrants hated the food and blasted it for not being authentic nd tasting disgusting and the actual Chinese immigrants born and raised in China loved it
