Can I just offer some soothing words?

Madonna's True Blue album - which had hits like Papa Don't Preach, Open Your Heart and La Isla Bonita - was opened with the lead 'Live To Tell', a song that is not nearly as recognisable as her others today.
Michael Jackson's Thriller was prefaced by The Girl Is Mine - a song that was criticised at the time and is by no means a huge hit of his, especially followed by the likes of Billie Jean, Thriller and Beat It - that were released as singles off the album later.
More recently (and subjectively), Gaga's very own Born This Way had gems like The Edge of Glory and Yoü and I (enduring hits) that came later in the release. ARTPOP was lead by Applause, but had tracks like Do What U Want and Sexxx Dreams.
Whitney's biggest hit 'I Will Always Love You' was a cover of a 20 year old song. Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive' wasn't even a single, it was a b-side to another song called 'Substitute'.
This isn't "damage control!!", but I sense a lot of angst about the commercial success or level of acclaim of this already (though it's faring fantastically), and just want to assist in moving people away from a "lead single = best song on album, most successful song on album, most remembered song". Don't worry about how this fits into her discography, or how this will fare as a classic - just be in the present and enjoy it today, then next week, then next month, or for however long you like. Nothing to stress over.
