The 'Bulletproof' duo are going to start writing over the Christmas period.
"We're going to stay in my manager's house and use the quiet time to our advantage," Elly Jackson told BBC 6 Music. "Ben [Langmaid] and I have got a fairly clear idea of what we want to do but we haven't actually started doing it yet so we don't know how it's going to sound."
She added: "I think there will be a natural instrument or two on there though, which will make a change from the first record."
Although they are set to start work on new material, Jackson warned fans not to expect a finished record anytime soon.
"We've only got two weeks writing time between Christmas and the summer," She explained. "So unless we manage to write a record in two weeks I don't think there will be anything in terms of a second record for a while." She added.

Elly Jackson has said that her vocal style will be different on the band's second record compared to the duo's 2009 self-titled debut.
The singer said that writing sessions with Ben Langmaid, the other half of the band, were well underway. She added that the new material would see them move away from their trademark '80s-influenced pop sound.
"The vocal style will be different I've changed the way I sing, not on purpose, it's just happened," she told BBC Newsbeat.
"The type of music I like now is completely different. I don't listen to '80s music anymore… obviously I still do, but not the same type of '80s music anymore. I'm into a lot more Italo disco and old funk."
She explained that she and Langmaid were enjoying writing sessions between live commitments.
"All of our focus is on the second album now," she said. "We've already started writing it. We've got this week together next week together… then two more weeks in April. We're trying to bang it out at the moment."
She's changing her vocals, finally. I mean her voice isn't that -- nice in the first album.
sounded like she was screaming >.> I still liked the first album though.
