I think it's awful. Just listened to Born This Way the album earlier and it's sad how much she's declined in quality since then. Hoping the album is better,
I had to turn it off. The screaming and repetitiveness were too much.
Then I read people's reactions and thought I'd give it another listen, this time with my bf.. and nope. We both found it grating and annoying.
Quite disappointed as I had high hopes considering the names attached to this project - but it seems, like always, Gaga had her final say & decided she knew more about production than actual producers. That is the only explanation I can muster for how this could've happened. Just like how she assumed she knew more about directing than actual directors in the past.
I don't know why she does this to herself... there is nothing wrong with open collaboration.
Regardless of production, the lyrical content and structure are nothing to wrote home about either.
Final impression: WTF why is she yelling the same basic, tuneless sentence over & over? Meh. I'll hope single 2 is better.
Its ok. I was expecting a bit more with the producers involved. It's nice overall but is kind of lacking that "big" moment to really take it up another level.
That's my biggest problem. Even at her worst, Gaga always knew how to create drama and make something epic. PI starts then suddenly it's over and it feels like nothing happened.
