It’s not like MC makes up numbers for fun, so it’s not like “using/not using MC” means anything even if ATRL always ignorantly acts like it. Rather, it’s a gauge of critical opinion.
We've had 10 consecutive Best Pictures get 86+ on MC. Is it because voters "used MC" and said "oh it has an 86 let's vote for it"? No.
Is it because they're films considered great all-around, and MC accurately measured this opinion? Yes.
