Because there's no need; there's no common struggle there for such a distinction. Whites aren't specifically targeted, disadvantaged and disenfranchised on an institutional level based on race; it's about as pointless as heteros having straight pride weekends.

I think it's more or less the implication that it would come across as supremacy as opposed to unity to hear white people refer to other white people as "my people" as opposed to POC that may do it.

It sounds just as odd as a black, Asian etc. person saying 'my people', so.. yes.

When I heard "my people" my first thought was another way of referring to friends/family.
