Like, here it's customary for guys to shake hands when they see each other which is laughable but I guess it's part of the macho culture or whatever. I cringe everytime people expect me to shake their hands when I go to classes.
How about you? Got any fancy handshakes? Do you like these social interactions?
If I know somebody already, it's usually much less touchy-feely, but every new person I am introduced to either shakes my hand or goes in for a hug during that first meeting. And then I tell them to buy Rebel Heart on iTunes.
If it's a friend at college I just do my regular "Hey"
With my family members, I hug/handshake with a smile and "Hello!"
With a partner I skip the introduction or just wave like fool
I really only handshake when meeting someone formally for the first time; usually a professional or more distant acquaintance.
If it's someone I'm close to or strongly familiar with, usually just a smile and hello/hey or a hug if it's someone I haven't seen in a long time or don't get to see often.
