Mr. Gore’s mendacity was supposedly demonstrated by trivial anecdotes, none significant, some of them simply false. No, he never claimed to have invented the internet. But the image stuck.

And right now I and many others have the sick, sinking feeling that it’s happening again.

This is what I'm saying. Bush was dumb but he wasn't nowhere near as bad as Donald Trump.

Trump has a better chance of winning the popular vote than you think. Media coverage of his antics is not the equivalent of the public's perception of him. He has a very large and loyal base of supporters, and last I checked a bigger social media following than Hillary.

That has nothing to do with the general electorate though. Just ask Bernie supporters how a big social media following and massive crowds plays out in the voting booth.

You cant win the popular vote or presidency in 2016 with just white people (which is the majority of his supporters). Minorities vehemently oppose Trump and that is the biggest thing stopping him from winning.
