If a song is less than 3 minutes, does it annoy you?
It's hard for me to love songs that are less than three minutes. It just doesn't seem substantial enough for me to really love it. I think of it more of an interlude instead of a masterpiece. I really want to commit to the song and obsess over it.
In SOME instances I think that it's bad songwriting and lazy.
I don't want to bash all songs that are less than three minutes, I just think that sometimes it's better to have a song longer than three minutes.
I don't think it's a problem to have songs less than three minutes long.
There have been several cases where songs are longer than three minutes that totally didn't need to be, and in those cases it just feels long and drawn out.
Often times it really works out for uptempo songs to be less than three minutes.
Not really no, sometimes I say to myself "urgh I wish this was longer" but take Drake's "Good Ones Go" for instance, that's simply an interlude that is like two mins long but it's still my favourite song from Drake, its short, simple and straight to the point.
If it's less than 2:30 or so, then yeah I might have a similar opinion to yours. If not, then it's typically good enough for me. Plus the replay value is usually better at that duration because the song will go faster and you'll want to hear it again.
No. A song that doesn't overstay its welcome and is economic/efficient with its parts, rather than remaining a slave to song structure just because it's typical, is always appreciated imo
As an instrumental hip hop fan, i'll have to say no it doesn't bother me. Though there are some songs that I would like for to be a bit longer just because they're really good. It really just depends on the song's content.
