So I just bought a macbook pro (mid 2012) for the first time and coming from an old £300 windows (meh) one, the audio sounds really weird. I don't know the technical terms but it when I played some music videos on youtube, they sounded like they had no bass and as if I was using GOD Awful headphones?

Any experienced users have any fixes?

I haven't had this problem before, but it's not normal. You might have to get it checked, because it's probably a hardware issue.
The speakers on my 13 inch macbook pro aren't that great, but from your description it sounds like you were using headphones.
The sound through headphones is really good.

I tried headphones and yeah they sound great but when I take them out and play audio through the speakers, it turns to **** again - as if there is no treble; it sounds so hollow and ew
I bought it yesterday but the model is the mid 2012 Macbook pro
If it's refurbished/used, it's very possible that the speaker could be water damaged or just damaged by the previous owner. I would definitely get the speaker checked out.
