Idk if I would call it trendsetting since it happens a lot. If an artiste works with a producer and is successful, then other artistes will follow. So yeah if Gaga's work with Ronson, Bloodpop, Parker is successful, then yep, we'll see them more in the mainstream.
Mark Ronson ain't no obscure since he was the main record producer of Back to Black (the album which has sold more than 15M copies worldwide)...but I think if the era will be sucessful like BTW, she might set a trend with the musical direction she'll lead for.
Well 'Uptown Funk' was like the biggest hit of the decade and not many(if any) went knocking on Mark's door except for Gaga. So I doubt it. Besides Mark Ronson has been around forever. You must be unaware of his resume referring to him as obscure
