There are fields that are male dominated, and fields that are female dominated. Females have had to deal with the expectation of raising the family hands on, while the male was the one who sacrificed to provide for the family financially.
This is why the positions of power which are dangerous and require immense time and family-oriented sacrifice have been male dominated. Females are slowly starting to transition into certain fields because we are starting to equalize roles regarding the family. This applies to all races.
However, I'm sure people experience discrimination in the workplace because of race. I'm pretty sure I've seen it first hand, which is unfortunate. I don't think gender really ties into that discrimination, though.
Personally, I've been rejected by certain jobs because the females were prioritized about males for the role. Women are seen as more hospitable and trustworthy to society, so they are hired more for jobs which require customer service.
