Hermine will be the first hurricane to make landfall in Florida since 2005, when it was hit by 4 (including Katrina).
It's also expected to cause power outages along its projected path, including where I live. :/

Hermine only has a little time to strengthen further before landfall, but it looks like it's doing so:
Meanwhile, Lester remains gorgeous:

I have found a livestream for the Weather channel's coverage of Hermine. I will post it when they come back from commercial break

Beach erosion will be awful. It's just gonna hover off the seaboard for 3-4 days. I'm hoping we can get some TS-force winds here, which the NHC gives us a 50/50 chance of experiencing.

Newton is intensifying quickly -
looks like an eye is forming.
It's going to make landfall near where Odile hit on Baja California Sur.

Newton could easily be Odile's brother

Gorgeous Super Typhoon Meranti is expected to either pass through the Luzon Strait or slam the southern portion of Taiwan.
Meanwhile, Orlene rapidly strengthened into a Cat 1. It's the 9th hurricane of the year in the EPac.

An unbelievable satellite picture from last night, thanks to Stu Ostro & CIMSS:
(that's Itbayat Island, a small Phillipine island with a population of 3,000)
Meanwhile, this is what the outer rainbands are doing to Taiwan:

Some more pictures:
Just amazing.
