CBS is committed to giving you gavel-to-gavel coverage of Judge Judy’s life. A drama series that is inspired by the life of beloved TV judge Judy Sheindlin has been put into development, EW has confirmed.
Titled Her Honor, the prospective project centers on the youngest judge in New York who gets to the heart of the matter in Family Court but has trouble getting a hold of her personal life.
Chicago Justice executive producer (and former Law & Order EP) Michael Chernuchin will write the pilot, with Sheindlin getting story co-writer credit, and both serving as executive producers alongside Arnold and Anne Kopelson.
CBS seems a logical place for Her Honor, as CBS Television Studios produces and distributes Sheindlin’s no-nonsense reality court show Judge Judy. The show is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and has been renewed through 2020.
This courtroom series stars former family court judge Judy Sheindlin. Each episode finds Judge Judy presiding over real small-claims cases inside a televised courtroom. Her no-nonsense, wisecracking approach has been unsuccessfully copied by other TV court judges.
