I was just reading the "most beautiful continent?" thread and I saw a lil argument about whether or not America is actually a continent.

so here's a thread for you guys to debate/talk about it.

personally I think america is one continent and that north america and south america don't exactly exist and that the USA shouldn't be called "america" just for the sake of not confusing people who believe that america is one continent.

No. North America and South America are separate continents. And America = The US.

It's not AP but i've seen this thread like 4 times in my 6 years on this site and each time results in a long argument between Americans and everyone else that last for like 10+ pages.

North America = a continent
South America = a continent
The Americas = 2 continents
America = USA

It's been awhile, but there was a thread about continents that got up to 30 pages a couple years ago

Not this **** again. America isn't one continent. There is North America (Canada, the US, Mexico, Central America, and most of the Caribbean), and then South America.

There's no active thread going, I don't believe. So it's been posted but they've been closed.

The continents talk is so iconic on ATRL.

US stays delusional, the Oympics agree that there are 5 continents overall and only America (North & South) is considered a continent.

There's less actually.

America, AfroEurAsia, Oceania and Antartica.
