Bad PR is all that matters.
Like, it's a redemption story. Yet he's currently being hunted by police (their point of view yesterday) and has within the last year attacked his assistant. Who's going to want to watch an obvious fluff piece? Just his small fanbase. There's no money in that because it's a lie. Had he actually come up from his attack on Rihanna and repented, it would be a great doc to see.
When you're suspect #1 in a case about domestic gun violence, expect to see backlash. No brand would want to be attached to anybody involved.
